Who are the beneficiaries?

Female Headed Household

These are single mothers (divorced or widowed) and they are the sole source of income for their family members. To exacerbate matters, females in Egypt have low educational opportunities and face challenges in practicing their roles outside the home or getting a job that provides them with income, which leaves them in unfairly poor economic conditions; where the opportunities they were deprived of in childhood have resulted in their continued suffering in the present time.

The Egyptian Food Bank provided 10 M services & Empowered 2,000 beneficiaries (July 2024 - February 2025)

2.4 M Services

Protection

The Protection Platform focuses on providing emergency relief to individuals and families in need. Over 700 K food boxes have been distributed to meet the basic needs of 3.5 M beneficiaries, and more than 1.3 M meals have been provided to assist individuals during crises. Additionally, convoys of aid have been sent to Gaza, including 181 trucks carrying over 3K tons of supplies.

Prevention

The Prevention Platform works to prevent food crises by providing essential food items to numerous individuals. Over 17K food boxes to meet the basic needs of 87K beneficiaries additionally more than 7.5 M meals have been distributed to families in need.

Empowerment

The Empowerment Platform contributes to supporting small and medium-sized projects, enabling individuals to improve their income sources and achieve financial independence. This platform includes several empowerment initiatives, such as supporting 1,000 of small farmers, 500 poultry farmers (female caretakers) and 500 Female Caretaker Cooks.

Crisis Relief Initiative

Food boxes from the Egyptian Food Bank are an important part of the distribution of food and aid to those in need. The boxes are packed and loaded with food then distributed to beneficiaries. Our food boxes mainly are targeted internally and externally towards Gaza, Sudan, Libya, and Slovenia.
